Sully 2 is hitting the pool in 2026!!

Excited to be back on the pool deck soon for another summer of fun and competition! We hope you are ready for another season of fast times in the pool, and fun times on the deck as we swim in Division 15 of the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL). Our home meet season offers three A meets and two B meets this summer!  SS2 is also hosting the Div 15 Individual Championships - Divisionals!

Registration is OPEN for our swim team AND for our Learn2Swim lessons program.  See the link on this page to register.  Our SUPERTeam program for developing swimmers will hold screening on June 10 at 4p at the pool. For information on all of the programs offered by the SS2 Swim Team, contact Chris and Lori Campbell (info below).

We are happy to welcome new families to the team. Get your friends out for swim team, as we fill the Piranha tank! We welcome back Coach Delaney Kennedy and Coach Hayley this season, and welcome Coach Simon Campbell and Coach Ehma Stalfort who are excited to work with our swimmers!

We are looking for help for our pep rallies, the Piranha Cafe, team breakfast, and other social events. Officials will be coordinated by Patrick Campbell, and many of our officials are heading to clinics to prepare for the season. Many of you have already signed up for these critical functions, but if you are called to help, please offer your assistance. We are in the midst of graduating many seniors who's parents are incredible volunteers as officials, coordinators, etc., so we need new people to fill their roles.  As always, we need EVERYONE to participate to make this season successful!

As we jump into the team’s 33rd year, we hope you are looking forward to family fun, great swimming, and two months around the pool that can’t be beat. We anticipate the start of the season each year, and hope you enjoy the ride!

SWIM FAST! HAVE FUN! GO PIRANHAS!

About the NVSL

Founded in 1956, NVSL serves nearly 18,000 swimmers and divers and their families across Northern Virginia. With its deep community roots, multigenerational traditions, and emphasis on developing a love of the sport, NVSL has become a defining part of summertime for thousands of families — and a nationally recognized model of community-based youth athletics.

Now in its 69th year, the league continues to set the standard for summer swimming, and its decision to adopt SwimTopia across all teams reflects NVSL’s commitment to providing its clubs with modern, reliable, league-aligned tools that simplify operations and elevate the experience for swimmers, parents, coaches, and volunteers.

NVSL: A Community Phenomenon Rooted in Fun, Family, and Lifelong Impact

Summer swimming in Northern Virginia isn’t simply a sport — it’s a cultural institution. Every year from late May through early August, tens of thousands of children take to the water, supported by parents, volunteers, and coaches who dedicate their summers to making the experience fun, uplifting, and unforgettable.

“It’s taking a recreational sport in the summertime and making it a competitive and social phenomenon,” says NVSL President Chris Campbell, who has been involved with the league for more than 50 years, as a swimmer, coach, parent, and board member. “We take an individual sport and make it a team event — families and kids of all ages working together.”

From early-morning practices to dual meets, relay carnivals, division championships, and the elite All-Star competitions, NVSL builds both athletes and leaders. The league’s environment emphasizes:

  • Team spirit and tradition
  • Family involvement — from deck marshals to snack shack crews
  • Leadership development — as young swimmers grow into coaches, mentors, and role models
  • Fun — a crucial pillar that keeps kids returning year after year

This supportive structure has shaped generations of young people, giving them not only athletic skills but also discipline, confidence, time-management abilities, and community pride.

NVSL’s supportive culture and strong coaching tradition have helped shape generations of athletes — from college standouts and record-setting high school swimmers to national competitors and Olympians. Many began in the same summer league setting that thousands of NVSL children enjoy today, grounded in fun, friendship, and community.
